Maj. Gen. William Rajczak, deputy director for Joint Capability Development, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. visited with cadets from the University of Georgia's Air Force ROTC detachment 160 April 13. The general spoke on various topics such as modern warfare and technology. General Rajczak oversees the development of a vast network of innovation, integration and joint/multinational interoperable architectures and data standards in direct support of combatant command joint task forces worldwide. Texas ROTC cadets give back to community
Cadets from Texas State University's Air Force ROTC detachment 840 divided themselves amongst four different service projects in the community April 4. While fellow cadets participated in and raised more than $4,000 towards Race for the Cure, 15 others participated in a beautification service project called the Bobcat Build project. In addition, five cadets provided mentorship to JROTC cadets as judges at a drill competition, and 16 cadets ran more than 30 miles in a POW/MIA remembrance run from New Braunfels to Kyle, Texas. SouthWest Edgecombe cadets build Wright Flyer replica
Cadets from SouthWest Edgecombe High School, N.C., Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps detachment NC-945 built a replica of the Wright Flyer and spans the original dimensions of 18 feet by 40 feet. The cadets were inspired by a Curriculum in Action trip to the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and utilized more than 500 feet of pine and 420 feet of muslin in addition to numerous other materials. More than 240 cadets from SouthWest Edgecombe High School, N.C., Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps detachment NC-945 worked diligently to build a replica of the Wright Flyer after visiting the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, N.C. The Wright Flyer replica built by the cadets spans the original dimensions of 18 feet by 40 feet and was displayed in three community parades upon completion in December 2008. (Courtesy photo)

SouthWest Edgecombe High School, N.C., Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps detachment NC-945 worked diligently for more than 10 months to build a replica of the Wright Flyer after visiting the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, N.C. Catalina Magnet High School JROTC
Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps detachment 943 from Catalina Magnet High School, Ariz., display their first place trophy February 21 after competing in the Ninth Annual West-Mitchell Invitational Drill Meet, naming the cadets as the top JROTC drill team in Arizona.
